Competitions

NDAC offers its members a wide variety of competition against other clubs throughout the year.

Competitions during the 2011/12 season include:

Devon County Cross Country Championships - Entry Form and Selection Policy
Devon League • male and female all ages from U10
South West League • U13, U15, U17, U20, Seniors
Southern Women’s League • Division 1 West U15 and Seniors
Southern Men’s League • Division 1 Seniors only
UK Cross Challenge • cross country all ages from U13
Gliddon & Squire • cross country all ages from U9
Devon Sportshall League • an indoor league in the winter at Dawlish U10 to U17

For League competitions, NDAC pay the affiliations and athletes are chosen to represent to the club. A small charge is made for the Devon League and Devon Sportshall competitions.

Events

There are also Open Meetings, where individual athletes have to pay for their own entries eg. Devon County Championships, Great West Open at Exeter, Young Athlete meetings at North Devon and Plymouth.

Transport to events

Subsidised coach transport is available to all league meetings.

For a couple of weeks before events where transport is available, there is a sheet on the noticeboard in the clubhouse foyer. Sign up on the sheet and indicate whether you will be boarding at Braunton (in the car park) or at the Barnstaple Park and Ride at Park School.

Pick up time will be on the sign-up sheet. The times should also be on the Diary details for the event.

Drop off time will be approximate. Team coaches will remind passengers to phone home about half an hour or so before the expected arrival. It is thus useful if you arrange with a passenger to borrow someone else’s phone if they don’t have their own. Or have a message system set up with another parent.

Younger athletes travelling

If you are concerned about younger athletes travelling without you as a parent or carer, please ensure you talk with one of the team coaches before the day of the event.
